Clichés are usually true. They just happen to be told so many times that our eyes roll to the back of our heads whenever we hear them (again!). I have always wanted to be a writer. That is a huge cliché, but it’s also one of the most important things to know about me. I had been a journalist for over 10 years when I moved from Lisbon to London to do a Masters in London College of Fashion. I wanted to be an “expert” in a field but turns out I get bored easily. I love travel writing, personal essays and writing about exciting issues that are shaping our time, our relationships and culture. I still feel scared and excited when I am given an assignment. I take deadlines seriously and I understand the huge responsibility that comes with having a voice.
